Cookie policy

This website sets no cookies. It does not store anything in your browser, it does not track you between visits, and it does not follow you to other websites. That is why you were never shown a consent banner. There is nothing to consent to.

What a cookie is

A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to hold onto and send back on later visits. Sites use them for ordinary things, such as keeping you signed in or remembering items in a cart, and for less ordinary things, such as following you across other websites to build an advertising profile. Local storage, session storage and similar browser-storage technologies work differently but serve the same kind of purpose, which is why we treat them the same way in this policy.

If IndexMesh ever needed a cookie for a real feature, such as keeping you signed in once accounts exist, we would use only what that feature requires and say so plainly here. Today there is no login, no cart and no account, so there is nothing to remember and no cookie to set.

What we use instead of cookies

We do want to know which pages people find useful, so we use analytics that do not need a cookie to work.

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics. A short script served from Cloudflare's own domain counts page visits without setting cookies, without following you across other websites, and without building a profile of you. We also use Google Search Console, which reports how our pages perform in Google search results and collects nothing from you as a visitor.

We do not use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, advertising pixels, session recording, heatmaps, or any behavioural tracking.

What this means technically

No cookies are set by us or by anyone else through this site. Nothing is written to local storage, session storage or IndexedDB. The one exception is the analytics script named above, loaded from Cloudflare's own domain; there is no embedded video and no web font loaded from another company's servers, and everything else this site loads is served from this domain.

The interactive tools on our pillar pages, including the visibility checklist, run entirely in your browser and remember nothing. Refresh the page and they reset. We never see your answers.

The notify and contact forms limit spam without a cookie too. A server-side worker keeps a salted, one-way hash of your IP address just long enough to count submissions, then it expires automatically. Nothing is set or read in your browser to do this.

What our hosting provider sees

This site is served by Cloudflare from a content delivery network, which means copies of these pages sit on servers around the world so they load quickly wherever you are. Cloudflare records standard server request logs in order to serve the site and protect it from abuse, and those logs include IP addresses, separately from the analytics script above. This is ordinary web hosting plus one disclosed analytics script rather than tracking, and we do not use either to identify or profile visitors, but it would be misleading to claim that literally nothing is recorded anywhere.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Even though this site sets none, every browser gives you control over cookies for the sites you do visit. You can usually view, block or delete them from your browser's privacy or security settings, choose to be asked before a site sets one, block third-party cookies by default, or clear them automatically when you close the browser. This is general information about how browsers work everywhere, not a description of anything IndexMesh does: since we set no cookies, there is nothing here for you to opt out of.

If this changes, this page changes

If we add an email signup that actually stores your address, embed a video, or introduce any tool that sets a cookie, we will update this page in the same release and say plainly what changed and why. We will not quietly start collecting something and leave this page saying we do not.
